casual comfy outfit + makeup

Hello everyone :) Some snaps from todays casual outfit. I didn't go anywhere special so was in no where overdressed, however I love casual days the best. A plain black T and comfy darkwash jeans are my ideal everyday wear. This slouchy cardigan is warm but light enough to feel cosy and not uncomfortable, and I adore the colour of it. Finally some cheap plimsoles from Primark for on my feet. Casual but stylish and chic. Loved this little outfit. There is also a snapshot of my makeup, a golden bronzy look which I had fun wearing!

Today I had some fantastic news, it was just what I needed for a boost at the moment so I'm a very happy lady :) Tomorrow I am having a girly day with my mum to celebrate and we are going car hunting for myself.. I am very excited! It has been a long time coming, but finally I can get a car and be independent. It feels good. The outfit I wear for our day out shall be more put together, so I'll be sure to share that with you tomorrow. I hope you are all having a fantastic day.

Spring nail varnish

Hello everyone :) Today I have a little post based on 'spring nail polishes'. Its a follow up from my youtube video on them, found under sophiekinnzz, but It would having been posted anyway because I have been dying to snap these pictures! Aren't spring nail polishes gorgeous!?

Every picture of the nail varnish the right way up is taken with flash, and bottoms up without. I'm pretty certain you can read every name apart from the little green guy, which is in the colour Mint green. The Barry M nailpolishes are beautiful, very easy to apply, and look lovely and shiny. They retail at £2.99. The Topshop polishes are more matte looking, take longer to dry but overall last longer and are more chip resistant. Plus they have a stunning range of colours, I cannot wait to collect many more! They retail at £5. The last few pictures are of a few random polishes that are not necessarily pastel colours, but stunning none the less. I used coral over and over last summer and hidden treasure is an amazing petrol colour, I have never seen a nail paint as pretty in my life!

What are your favourite spring polishes to wear?

building body confidence

Hello Everyone :) I've made a few changes to my blog, well not a few, quite a substantial amount considering I've been at it for the past three hours! However I adore it now in a way I didn't before. At first I thought only my content mattered, but I quickly realised after reading many blogs I was drawn in by the pretty colours and design. So here is what I came up with. I love it. Onto the post..
Here are my top 4 tips to building body confidence.

1.  Listen to the sunscreen song. Trust me, you'll love it!
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xfq_A8nXMsQ
The line 'Your body is the greatest instrument you will ever own' is so true.
Work it. Own it. Appreciate it.

2. Do not compare yourself to others, you have your own unique qualities that others will love. You cannot be them, do not waste your time wishing to. Admire style and confidence, take from others what you can in that sense and grow using this, however you are you and will only ever be you.. remember it!

3. Do not listen to what anybody else says. Yes, we are all influenced by what other people think of us but it will only make you feel worthless to listen to other people scrutonise the way you look. Turn name calling into a positive - you have a quality of kindness that that person certainly does not have! It is hard but try to not give a damn, the people who love you and who are most important in your life will respect you for you, just the way you are. Remove the negative people from your life.

4. Set goals. If you are not happy with something about your body - change it. Whether you get a boob job, or go on a drastic diet, it does not matter! All that matters is your happiness, and your confidence because ultimately the way you feel on the outside affects your mental health. Fix it and move on.

I hope these tips have been helpful and that they shed some light on how to love and appreciate your body, and not give a damn! I shall update shortly. Love Sophie x

elf haul

Hey Dolls! :)
I have an Elf Haul for you all today. I had been waiting for Elf's facebook page to hit 350,000 likes because when it did they were going to allow us all 30% off for a few days. This happened, yippeee! So I placed my order. I placed it on the Thursday evening and recieved it on the Saturday morning, one full day later as I expected. The shipping is very quick with eyeslipsface.co.uk! :) Delivery was £2.95 which I think is very reasonable and not over-priced at all. All Studio products retail at £3.50, any others retail at £1.50. Onto the products I bought..

Some Elf Brushes. The eye defining brush, which is amazing for the crease and outer V, I highly recommend it! :) Then two brushes from the Studio Line, the Elf Stipple Brush and the Elf Powder Brush. The powder brush I am a huge fan of, it's really great for applying my liquid foundation!
However the stipple brush sucks, do not buy it, it is far too flimsy..

-Elf Conditioning Lip Balm SPF 15 in Romantic Rouge. A beautiful, sheer everyday-wearable red!
-Elf Mineral Lipstick in Barely Bitten. A gorgeous reddy/browny lipstick perfect for nights out, very moisturising!
-Elf Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 in Malt Shake and Party Peach. Both lovely, I adore these tubed glosses and cannot wait to purchase even more!

-Elf Eyshadow from the Studio Line in Rasberry Truffle, a purple/brown colour, in my opinion only to be used in the crease.
-Elf Nail Polish in Passion Pink. At first I HATED this as Im not a fan of bright, garish pinks however I soon realised it had speckles of gold shimmer in it as you can see from the picture, and once applied it dries to a lovely colour, very similar to how it is shown on the website.
-Elf Brightening Eye Colour in Day 2 Night. Four lovely colours, resonably pigmented (well what can you expect from a £1.50 eyeshadow quad!? Not a lot!) and im super excited to try out some looks using this!
-Elf Studio Blush in Mellow Mauve. A gorgeous deep pink/mauvey blush. A beautiful colour and one I will get a lot of wear out of.

Some swatches. The first four are the lip products. Working from the top downwards they are Romantic Rouge, Barely Bitten, Malt Shake and Party Peach. The last picture is blush/eyeshadows. Working from the top downwards is firstly the Brightening Eye Shadow Quad, then Rasberry Truffle and finally Mellow Mauve blush :)

I hope you all enjoyed this post and that it is somewhat helpful! Just keep in mind that the colours on the website are not always exactly how the product appears, so be sure to check out lots of different swatches before you purchase anything!

saturdays makeup/outfit

Hello Everyone! :)
Today I'm sharing with you a quick post with some pictures from Saturday evening. I was at a house party until 12ish and then we hit a local club, it was a really fun night! :] So these are some pictures I took of my hair, makeup and outfit. It turned out pretty sweet I'd say.

I created the eye look using my Naked Palette. Sidecar on the lid, Smog in the outer V and Hustle in the outer corner, finished off with Virgin as my highlight :). I used my Maybelline gel liner + Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara. I was wearing my Elf Studio Blush in Mellow Mauve and my Elf Mineral Lipstick in Barely Bitten. The foundation is a mixture of Revlons Photoready in Nude + Bourjois Healthy Mix in the colour 54. Fired some Mac MSFN in Medium on top of that and I was good to go! I also applied my Elf HD powder which I think gives a lovely finished off look to the skin.

This was the outfit.. My new top, shown in my Lush and Primark haul, some dark wash skinny jeans (they are not black even though they appear that way!) A pair of heels from limited collection at M&S, they are gorgeous and I adore the polka-dots! Then my bag is a little H&M purchase which cost me £12 and was bought a couple of months back, simple and chic and I love it.

I hope you enjoyed today's post, tomorrow will be my ELF Haul that I promised.
I hope you are all enjoying your Monday, a pretty dire day of the week I would say. Roll on next weekend!
Love, Sophie x

all things spring like

Hello Everyone! :)
Today is a quick post on 'all things spring like'. Soon it will be March, and then quick enough April which means spring/summer is just around the corner! I am already preparing myself...

Spring-like patterns and feminine tops.

Wearable spring time, sheer, red lips.

Spring shoes, showing skin. I will break these baby's out when the weather is warm enough to wear them. Hopefully not too far away now!

Spring nails. A gorgeous Topshop colour called 'Pool Party'.

Daffidals. It is when you see the daffidals you know spring is arriving. Beautiful yellow flowers that take us from spring to summer, the best months of the year.

Happy Saturday everyone! I hope you all have a lovely weekend. Tomorrows post will be an Elf haul, as I recieved many exciting goodies in the post today, purchased because of the 30% off deal, what a bargain!

bits n' bobs

Hello my lovelies! :)
After slacking on posts and videos again.. I am back! I had a busy week and just not a lot of time to fit things in, however I'm looking forward to posting again as I've missed my little blog. Today's post is a random mixture of some things from my week, as I didn't snap an awful lot. So without further ado, enjoy..

A Magic Mushroom bubble bath from the start of the week. This Bubble Bath Bomb is from the Lush Valentines Collection and retails at £2.95. It is heavenly and I really recomend you all check it out before it dissapears for another year, BOO! :( My dad visited the bathroom before I'd had time to drain it away and was concerned, shouting 'Sophie are you bleeding!?' silly man..

Some pictures from a long, epic walk around Linlithgow Loch that I went on with a friend this week. It wasn't the prettiest of days, however it was dry and that really is rare in Scotland! Also the sun was setting as we approached the side of the palace so it was a beautiful view, this picture does not do it justice AT ALL! I was snapping some photos of the swans/geese and I managed to get this blurred picture which I think is so pretty and unique! They were not my friends however, chasing after me because I had food.. I was running away petrified, haha!

Barry M's Peach Melba, a nail colour I bought and tried out this week. I bought it because I had seen it on a girl's nails and fell in love, however she was much more tanned than I currently am at the moment. I think it needs to go away until the sun comes out but I'm certain I'll get lots of wear out of it in the summer!

My most recent nail purchase, bought today. Topshop's 'Pool Party' which is a beautiful to-die-for bluey greeny colour! Excuse the horrific nail cuticles, and chips.. I really am awful at taking care of my nails. A definate challenge for me is stopping my nail bitting completey as it is a dirty, horrible habit! This nail polish is available for £5 or £4.50 with a student discount and was fairly easy to apply. The packaging I must say is very feminine and pretty!

That is all for today. Tomorrows post will be some recent purchase pictures to go along with my haul video which I shall be uploading. I hope everyone is having a lovely, relaxing friday evening, or are out enjoying themselves! You only live once as they say.

Lots of love Sophie xoxo

saturday makeup + outfit

Good Morning Everyone! :)
So it's Sunday morning and I didn't get in last night until half 4.. eek! I really I have no idea why Im up this early I just woke up and couldn't get back to sleep. It'll defo be one of those napping days because 5 hours sleep is not enough for me! But I thought I would share yesterdays makeup and outfit with you seen as that was originally the plan last night, however I ended up out for some drinks :)

So my youtube video on this look is currently uploading. You can find it hereee.. www.youtube.com/sophiekinnzz Its a beautiful, very matte eye look based on the matte shadows from the original Naked Palette! :) Basically I covered my lid in my Mac MSFN, then placed the colour Naked slightly above the crease, I placed Buck on the outer corner and finally sweeped some of that on the bottom lash line also. I used a white eyeliner pencil for a very subtle highlight, applied my Gel Eyeliner, curled my lashes and coated them in Mascara! On my lips I am wearing Mac's Ravishing, and Elf Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 in the colour Goddess on top :)

And this was Saturdays outfit! :) Very plain and simple but I absolutely loved it..
I really like covering up in the winter wearing long sleeved basic tops, and lots of statement jewellery! I re-discovered this beautiful necklace I loved a long time ago, from Primark :) the colours are very pretty!

I hope you are all having a fantastic weekend and that you enjoy a relaxing Sunday. I think it's time for one of my many Sunday naps, hehe!
Until next time.

Lots of love Sophie xoxo

its the simple things

Hello Everyone! :)
So I haven't blogged in a few days purely because I don't really have much to say..
Nothing very exciting has happened and I guess I've not been feeling as creative. Also money is tight at the moment so my spending has been reeled in, so not much hauling to blog about! However, today I am really in the mood to post so I thought lets come up with something Sophie! :) Todays post is going to be based around 'the simple things' in life. As they are dang bloody good! Lets fire in.

Yesterday's date with a classic girly comedy, plus my home bargain munchies. Nom nom nom! There is nothing better than spoiling your belly when you don't feel very spoiled yourself! Damn pms... :(

Makeup! It might not be simple to create with, but it is a simple concept and us girls LOVE it! We cannot get enough. As sad as it may sound one of the best parts of my day is sitting down at my dressing table and getting tucked in :)

This little dude. Isn't he to die for!? I've named him Happy Feet after the very famous film! (One of my all time favourites, brings both tears of joy and laughter) I brought him out in time for my christmas decorating as hes a little hanging dec but afterwards I thought what the heck he is staying put! He sits lovingly on my dressing table and never fails to make me smile.

My papa. That is all. He is a huge part of my life and I love him with all my heart. I make sure I appreciate the time I spend with him everyday because life is short we all know that. In my heart I have spots for certain people.. he has one and always will.

Secondly a gift from my sister. The quote is perfect at summing up our relationship. Fun, fiesty and damn right awesome! I keep it on my bedside table to remind myself how lucky I am to have her.

"Family
like branches on a tree we all grow in different directions yet our roots remain as one"

Little things from my room which I adore. The simplicity of this ribbon tied around my vase. The design on this place mat, stained from endless delicious cups of tea..

Finally this hamsters cheeky wee grin. What a cutie. I will get a hamster, I will. :)

What are the simple things in your life?

Have a wonderful weekend everyone, stay safe and cheerful and don't forget to check out my latest video at www.youtube.com/sophiekinnzz  =]
Lots of love Sophie xoxo
